Who am I
Hi, I’m Umor. A Freelance Designer, Blogger, and Entrepreneur. Now also working as CEO of AliQuill.
I have been working as a designer since 2015. I specialize in brand logo and identity design for small businesses. I have worked in several private design agencies in Sylhet, Bangladesh where I was born and raised.
Transition to Freelancing, Struggles and Success
However, I eventually took a risk and resigned from my job to focus on freelance work and self-improvement. I don’t know what you’re thinking but it wasn’t easy for me. Because I didn’t have enough money to hire a consultant for me. My proficiency in English was limited. So you can imagine what a bad time it was for me.
I have struggled a lot in every aspect during this time. After a year of struggle, I got my first order. It was a small order of $5 but it brought me the happiest moment of my life. After this project I did not face any major problem. My professionalism has allowed me to maintain high standards and enhance my reputation with clients. After that, I completed over 700+ project with 500+ happy clients within 3 years.
If someone asks me about the secret of my freelance success, I would say it is because of my honesty, competence, hard work, respect for clients, providing resources and support for them, and connecting with clients.
Why I started AliQuill
I don’t want anyone to struggle like I did due to a lack of proper guidance. After gaining a lot of experience in freelancing I feel responsible for newbies who want to start freelance or remote work. Moreover, during this time I mentored over 100 of my friends and neighbors in freelancing. Now I have started AliQuill. Here I regularly provide valuable blog posts. I write guidance, tips and the latest information, providing resources for freelancers and remote workers from my experience and learning.
Vision of AliQuill
AliQuill has ambitious plans. My vision is to establish Aliquill as a one-stop place for freelancers. So that a freelancer can learn everything about freelancing, get all the guidance he needs, access all the resources he needs, and get a strong community and environment in the same place that is AliQuill.
